On 7 and 8 February 2025, the Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE) Department at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) celebrated a significant milestone: marking three decades of excellence of the IPE Department!

The event was organised by the SUST IPE Alumni Association (SIPEAA), bringing together alumni, academics and industry leaders to celebrate the department's achievements while exploring the future of engineering and technology.

Technovative Solutions Ltd., the parent company of Indetechs Software Ltd., was the Gold Sponsor of '3 Decades of SUST IPE & Reunion 2025'. The event featured a lively reunion of alumni and industry leaders, demonstrating the department's strong community and network built over the three decades.


Exploring the Future of Industry

One of the highlights of the first day was the panel discussion titled "Future of Industry: Current Trends and Emerging Challenges." Among the distinguished panellists was Dr. Tamanna Khan, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Technovative Solutions Ltd. (TVS), and an alumnus of the Department, joining virtually to share her insights on technology transfer and digital transformation.

Drawing on her extensive experience in innovation and emerging technologies, Dr Khan discussed how digital transformation is reshaping industries and creating new opportunities for businesses and professionals alike.

Speaking to aspiring engineers and young professionals, Dr Khan said:

"You don't have to be an expert in AI or blockchain; nevertheless, you can be confident that you're creating a positive impact on improving the circular economy by using the technologies."

She joined an esteemed panel that included Tareq Amin, Founder and CEO of Textile Today; R N Paul, Managing Director of PRAN-RFL Group; Pervez Sajjad, Supply Chain Director of Nestlé Bangladesh PLC; Shah Muhammad Ashequr, Chief Marketing Officer of Honda Pvt. Ltd.; Nawabur Rahman, Director of Technical Operations at Square Pharmaceuticals; and Syed Arefin, Managing Director of A&E BD Ltd.

A team from Indetechs Software Ltd and Technovative Solutions Ltd was well-represented at the event with a booth. The team included Kollol Chakraborty, Senior Software Engineer; Sajib Sutradhar, Software Engineer; and Syed Shafkatul Hassan, Junior AI & ML Engineer. Our representatives welcomed visitors at the exhibition booth throughout the event. 

The booth provided an opportunity to engage with alumni, students and industry professionals, showcasing how Indetechs Software Ltd. develops software solutions that support sustainability, digital transformation and industrial innovation. Visitors also learned about the wider initiatives led by TVS and its affiliated companies.

The reunion created a vibrant atmosphere across the SUST campus as alumni reconnected with former classmates, faculty members and industry peers. Alongside the networking sessions, attendees explored sponsor exhibitions highlighting the latest technologies, research and industrial innovations.

The event reflected the strong relationship between academia and industry while encouraging meaningful conversations about future collaboration, innovation and career opportunities for the next generation of engineers.


About Dr Tamanna Khan

Dr Tamanna Khan is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Technovative Solutions Ltd. (TVS), UK. She is a certified Change Manager and holds a PhD in Business and Management from the Alliance Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester. Her doctoral research focused on corporate development strategies, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and their impact on enhancing innovation and competitive performance within high-tech companies. Her expertise lies in cross-domain technology transfer and digital transformation.

Dr Khan earned a Master’s in Management of Technology from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, USA. She has also completed an Executive Master’s in Supply Chain Management and Logistical Systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland.

Dr Khan is also working as the Project Coordinator and Dissemination and Communication leader for several H2020, HORIZON and InnovateUK-funded projects related to circularity, blockchain-enabled healthcare, disaster resilience, geothermal, solar and renewable energy and battery passports.
